Description:

Georgia Gwinnett College is searching for a full-time dedicated profession to join the Registration Services team. Reporting to the Associate Registrar, the primary responsibility for this position is transfer credit evaluations. The Assistant Registrar manages personnel, student records, articulation catalogs and registration. Adheres to academic, state and federal regulations and delivers professional and exceptional customer service to students, faculty and administration. This position will be responsible for transfer credits evaluation process. The Assistant Registrar will assist with registration, orientation, Degree Works and course substitutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures compliance with BOR and University College policies: Assists in reviewing, implementing and enforcing academic policies related to transfer evaluations.
  • Leads the overall management of transfer credit and credits received through credit by exam, manages the Banner SIS transfer credit and credits catalog database and equivalencies, and ensures that GGC transfer credit catalog extracts are uploaded to GATRACS.
  • Responsible for supervision of assigned staff members; supervises staff responsible for performing evaluation and application of credits to student's transfer credits through domestic, international, credit by exam, military credits, articulation agreements.
  • Coordinates transfer articulation review.
  • Works collaboratively with academic departments to resolve records, degree audits, course substitution issues; ensures transfer-related practices/protocol; leads reviews of transfer articulations and MOUs with academic departments; ensures articulations adhere to USG and College standards, and ensure team is informed of agreements.
  • Works collaboratively with the DegreeWorks scribe person to identify and mitigate DegreeWorks and curriculum scribe issues.
  •  Assist with the planning, design and implementation, and testing of new software's applications (i.g., Banner upgrades). Performing testing of existing database applications when updates occur or as needed.
  • Represents the Office of the Registrar on selected college committees.
  • Provides guidance and training to the campus community on transfer evaluation policies and procedures.
  • Assist students at orientation with registration, answering questions regarding transfer credits.
  • Responds to assigned call tickets, email and phone calls. 

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree 
  • Applicant should demonstrate the ability to/of:
    • Follow college regulations and procedures.
    • Understand the maintaining of academic records in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Demonstrate administrative and managerial ability.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws.
  • Knowledge of international transcript evaluations.
  • Exhibit organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Supervise and train staff.
  • Foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Provide excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and analytical skills.
  • Provide professional direction, guidance and counsel to a wide range of constituencies.
  • Set a high standard of professionalism by providing high quality customer services to both the general public as well as students, faculty and staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree preferred or a minimum of 5 years work related experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position may require local travel. Depending upon specific duties, position may require a College issued uniform or shirt to ensure employees engaged in representing the College to the community are clearly identified as such. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
