Nature of Work:

Represents the University to prospective students and their families. Recruits students who meet admissions requirements to the University. Ensures proper documentation and verification of prospective students and applicants in Banner. Collaborates with staff team members to promote recruitment and orientation of students. Works with other departments to support implementation of university recruitment and admissions plans as well as support institutional goals for retention, attrition and student advancement. 

Training and Experience:

INTERNAL EMPLOYEES WHO MEET MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.

Associates Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred; excellent skills needed in use of Microsoft Office Productivity suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Access); overall proficiency in the use of technology is required; excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills; ability to exercise courtesy, tact and sensitivity; previous customer service experience required; flexibility with schedule to work available shifts during the week, week nights, and weekends; experience should include but not be limited to: Banner (preferred), GA Futures, Oracle, SQL (preferred) and strong Microsoft Office user; possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes such as personal computer and related software skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database, data query, and internet; high motivation with the ability to take initiative to solve complex problems; demonstrate good judgment; ability to assume responsibility and meet deadlines; creativity with the ability to pay close attention to detail, handle interruptions, balance multiple and varied tasks, and handle confidential information with discretion; ability to analyze and evaluate situations, process and procedures to determine or recommend best business practices and recommend changes as needed. 

Illustrative Examples of Work:  

  • Recruitment of new undergraduate students by attending college fairs, coordinating high school visits, and planning recruitment events.
  • Collaborates with staff team members to promote recruitment and success of all students.
  • Works with other university departments to support implementation of college recruitment and admission plans as well as to support institutional goals for retention, attrition and student advancement.
  • Provides marketing and outreach to appropriate target populations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
