The Department of Teaching and Leading at Augusta University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in Educational Leadership. The position will begin August 2020.  Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses online, advising and supervising students in the Educational Leadership program, and developing partnerships with school systems for the preparation of educational leaders. Providing service to the Department of Teaching and Leading, the College of Education, and the University is also expected.

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Teaching and Leading is one of three departments in the College of Education, whose programs are accredited by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities.  The College of Education offers undergraduate and graduate programs at the masters, specialists, and doctorate (Ed.D.) levels.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or related area (ABD with designated completion date acceptable).  All candidates must demonstrate a record of effective teaching, an intimate knowledge of the P-12 educational system in the state of Georgia (e.g. laws, rules, and regulations governing public schools), strong interpersonal skills, experience and a keen understanding of a school leader’s multifaceted roles.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of three years administrative experiences as a principal, school business official, or other central office administrator; a minimum of three years of classroom teaching experiences and/or pupil personnel service in  P-12 school settings; and college teaching experience (preference given to online teaching experience). Preference will also be given to applicants who possess knowledge of the preparation of school leaders in Georgia as well as experience collaborating with school and district leadership in the development of partnership and leadership pipelines.

Conditions of Employment

All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review.  For specific positions, the final candidate may be subject to a (pre-employment) physical, drug screen, and/or credit check.

The final candidate will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary course work in the form of original transcript(s).  Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
