Job Description: 

The College of Education is seeking candidates for a position as a tenure track Assistant Professor or Lecturer. The candidate will be expected to teach language arts, reading and literacy courses on the GSW campus and at off-campus sites; advise students majoring in education; engage in professional development activities; provide service to the College of Education, University, and school partners. The applicant may teach other classes, as assigned, consistent with the candidate’s expertise and qualifications. Preference will be given to those candidates who have P-12 classroom experience and expertise in dyslexia education.

Required Qualifications

A Master’s Degree in Reading Education, language and literacy education, or related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution is preferred (ABD considered).
  • Completed 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching field.
  • Teaching Certification in Reading with experience in P-12 public schools.
  • Knowledge and experience of edTPA.
  • Experience working in the area of dyslexia education.
