Job Summary/Basic Function:

JOB SUMMARY

This position serves as the main point of contact for the Dual Enrollment recruitment and programming at Gordon State College. The position represents Gordon State College and the Office of Admissions to prospective students, parents and families, secondary school personnel, high school guidance counselors, senior high school administrators and organizations involved in the college selection process.

MAJOR DUTIES
• Administers the day-to-day activities and operations of Dual Enrollment.
• Serves as a primary new freshman recruiter in a limited geographic territory, in addition to DE recruiting.
• Ensures that the operations and activities are in conformance to and in compliance with state and federal guidelines for the programs.
• Expands and builds the programs throughout the Gordon State College service area.
• Coordinates with the broader community, including other educational partners; assists in participant follow-up activities and project evaluation reports.
• Represents the College in a variety of meetings in support of program goals and activities; maintains liaison with applicable agencies.
• Works closely with program partners.
• Plans and develops information sessions to promote the programs and for recruitment of students into the programs.
• Coordinates student support activities including advising students in the programs, and works with partners to facility student success.
• Serves as a resource to others for data, research, special projects, schedules, and other information pertaining to the programs.
• Develop yearly dual enrollment calendar and establish and implement a timeline and processes for all tasks related to DE recruitment, enrollment, retention, and reporting – including dual enrollment application, testing, registration, and enrollment roster due dates.
• Maintain fall and spring semester spreadsheets of dual enrollment instructors and their classes to ensure that classes are entered into Banner.
• Collect, code, and disseminate class rosters for registration of dual enrollment students each semester, and initiate drop/add/withdrawal procedures for students. Ensure students are registered in Banner.
• Develop annual dual enrollment contracts for partner public and private schools.
• Resolve student complaints regarding academic issues in dual enrollment.
• Assist in the coordination of the on-line application process for partner schools, students and parents, as well as assist with the coordination of placement testing in partner schools.
• Serve as the point of contact for the DE program.
• Develop and implement an orientation program, handbook, and other resources for high schools.
• Maintain and improve Gordon’s dual enrollment website, brochure, and other marketing and recruitment materials. Provide clear and consistent communications, letters, brochures, and other marketing materials to promote the program.
• Travel to surrounding locations for recruitment efforts.
• Other duties in support of DE programs and student success, as assigned.

Salary: 33,622.22

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

• Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Gordon State College.
• Knowledge of Dual Enrollment policies as prescribed by the University System of Georgia.
• Knowledge of academic programming in higher education, dual credit education, and alternate methods of delivery including weekend, evening, online and future technologies.
• Skill in oral and written communication, exceptional interpersonal skills, poise, and professionalism in all interactions across the college.
• Ability to effectively represent Gordon State College in a variety of public settings with confidence and integrity, and work effectively and efficiently within a shared governance environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, academic leadership, student affairs leaders, and other educational pillars to move strategy forward.

• Ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to increase educational pathways for students
• Ability to demonstrate relationship care-taking and group facilitation techniques to ensure continued engagement by stakeholders.
• Knowledge of best practices in college admissions and recruitment.
• Knowledge of USG and Gordon State College policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
• Knowledge of Family Education Rights and Privacy Act guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require one to three years of related experience.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field is preferred.
