About the College/Unit/Department

The mission of the Quantitative Methodology (QM) program is to advance the theory and practice of statistics and measurement in the social and behavioral sciences. The program provides graduate training in research design and analysis as well as advanced training in psychometrics, educational assessment, and quantitative research methodology. The area of quantitative methodology specialization for the candidate’s research and teaching assignment is open, with a preference for a scholar whose research focuses on advancing contemporary methodology for (a) experimental research design and analysis or (b) the assessment and measurement of complex traits and behaviors.

Position Summary

The successful applicant will be expected to maintain a high-quality research program, seek external funding, serve as a research mentor for students, direct theses and dissertations, participate in faculty governance, and contribute to the collegial community of the Quantitative Methodology program and the larger Department of Educational Psychology. This position requires teaching the equivalent of two graduate-level courses per semester in the program.

Additional Requirements

Qualifications include an earned doctorate at the time of employment with a specialization in assessment and measurement, psychometrics, educational statistics, quantitative psychology, or a closely related field. Evidence of the promise of moving towards a strong record of scholarly research that advances methodology, securing external funding to support the candidate’s program of research, and teaching graduate courses and mentoring students.
