Georgia State University, founded in 1913, is classified as a RU/H (Research University/High Research Activity) with a mission of excellence in teaching, research and service. We are located in the heart of downtown Atlanta with a diverse student and faculty body.

Position Description:  Primary responsibilities include conducting research, publishing research and scholarship, seeking external funding to support research, and teaching courses in the department’s World Language Teacher Certification Program and supporting the work of our Center for Transnational and Multilingual Education (CTME).  Additional responsibilities include mentoring doctoral students; advising undergraduate and graduate students; serving on departmental, college and university committees and in participating in professional organizations and conferences.

The interested applicant should be fluent in language(s) other than English, preferably Spanish, with an interest in immigrant community activist-oriented work in schools and communities.

We work collaboratively with stakeholders in schools, communities and organizations in Atlanta and around the world. We are committed to innovation and creativity and to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and practice. We strive to realize our vision of pluralism, equity and social justice where individuals have equal access to meaningful learning opportunities throughout their lives and the chance to apply their knowledge and skills for the greater good.
