Job Summary

Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for Assistant Director Student Financial Services. This position assists the Director of Student Financial Services in managing the area of student Financial Services for the University. Oversees the daily operations of the Student Accounts/Cashiers Office. Verifies, processes, and reconciles financial data; performs daily and monthly banner close processes; conducts collections procedures. Maintains integrity of financial information in departmental databases. Works with students and parents on student balances and payment arrangements; communicates financial information, policies, and procedures to vendors, students, parents, faculty, staff and other outside entities. Provides training to cashiers on policies, procedures and internal controls. This position serves as backup in the absence of the Director. May be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; competitive benefits program.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; and three or more years of related work experience. Effective communication, organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Considerable knowledge of cashiering functions and Banner preferred. Background and/or credit check may be required.
