Position Summary

This is fiscal year (12-mo) Academic Professional, non-tenure track faculty position in the Harley Langdale Jr. Center for Forest Business (www.ugacfb.com) of the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources. The position is a 70% administrative and 30% teaching appointment with undergraduate and master’s program instructional responsibilities including wood procurement, forestry consulting, and a summer field course. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting the biennial Timberland Investment Conference and other periodic continuing education programs, assist in strategic planning efforts, market graduate programs to prospective students, and maintain close ties to program employers and stakeholders. The successful candidate will also assist the Dean of the Warnell School with corporate-focused development efforts and legislative/external affairs.

Additional Requirements

Applicants should have a PhD in a field related to forestry, economics, business, or other related field or an MBA or similar master’s degree with ten or more years of significant managerial or executive experience in the forest business sector.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

We particularly encourage applicants with at least one degree from an SAF accredited forestry program.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Applicants must be able to demonstrate their ability to work collaboratively with faculty and be effective instructors with undergraduate and graduate students.
