Position Summary

Full-time, non-tenure track position in the Department of Communication Studies beginning in August of 2019. Salary for this position is very competitive. Responsibilities include instructing the members of the Georgia Debate Union, travel to tournament competitions, attending squad meetings, participating in practice debates, listening to practice speeches, facilitating student research, participation in debate outreach projects, hosting interscholastic tournaments, classroom instruction, undergraduate recruiting, and administrative duties associated with debate travel.

Additional Requirements

MA, JD, or PhD in an appropriate field is required.

Candidates with a MA degree will be considered but must document exceptional accomplishments in intercollegiate debate or related area and must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire.

Documented success coaching policy debate students at the intercollegiate or interscholastic level required.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

Advanced degree in Communication Studies is preferred.
