The Office of Human Resources is seeking a Part-time Human Resources Assistant to work up to 19 hours per week.  The Part-time Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for providing general administrative and clerical support including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining human resource records and documentation
  • Prepare new hire welcome kits and supplies for each onboarding classes
  • Copy, scan and file in a manner where all items remain neat and orderly at all times
  • Create personnel files
  • Answer phone calls and emails and refer to specialists as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team on special projects as needed including the faculty contracts, special events etc.
  • Assist with various audit assignments including tracking of evaluations, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary: Hourly compensation commensurate with education and experience. 

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2-3 years' office experience
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills appropriate for all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a college or university Human Resources office

Physical Requirements

Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Work Hours:  Position may require non-standard work hours (nights and weekends). This is a part-time position up to 19 hours per week.
