Position Summary

The University of Georgia (UGA) welcomes nominations and applications for an endowed professorship in global health at the UGA College of Public Health. This Professorship is a key position in our College that comes with institutional commitment to support the work of a researcher in global public health who is also dedicated to mentoring a new generation of leaders in the field. UGA seeks a candidate eligible for appointment at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor.

Additional Requirements

A doctoral degree is required with a minimum of five years of subsequent experience in at least one of the five core public health disciplines. The doctorate may be a PhD in public health or a related biomedical discipline; a DrPH; an MD; or a DVM.

For information regarding the requirements of each faculty rank, candidates should review the Guidelines for Promotion and Tenure for the College of Public Health, section IV.B (https://provost.uga.edu/_resources/documents/Public_Health_2015.pdf).

To be eligible for tenure on appointment, candidates must have been tenured at a prior institution and demonstrate a national reputation to the institution. They also must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

Highly preferred candidates for this position should be able to demonstrate clear and convincing evidence of an international reputation in a field relevant to Global Health with successful scholarship, instruction and leadership in their field. Accomplishments to be considered include sustained research in global health, publications in prominent scientific journals, mature international research collaborations, mentorship of graduate students in global health, and mentorship of early career faculty. Applicants must also show the promise to develop and maintain their reputation in the future.
