Nature of Work: The Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Albany State University is a member of the senior management team, serves on the leadership team for the University and reports directly to the University President. Responsibilities include serving as the chief administrative officer of Student affairs' functions and activities; providing a vision and leadership for development of priority programs responsive to the changing needs of students; strategic planning and analysis of operations and budgets; selection, development, and supervision of unit heads; and representing Albany State University to students, alumni, and other internal and external constituents.  
Training and Experience: The Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management must be knowledgeable of institutional goals, operations, personnel, and programs, and have experience representing the institution to various constituencies including media, donors, parents, and other University offices. The successful candidate will have a proven record of leadership in the development and implementation of high quality and student-centered approaches to support student success in non-academic dimensions of students' university experiences. The position requires a broad understanding of student development theory; demonstrated leadership in enrollment management; ability to work effectively with diverse groups of faculty, administrators, and students, parents, and community officials; and broad based knowledge of Division of Student Affairs functions, services, and budgets at large public institutions. 
A distinguished record of at least ten years of relevant and progressive management or leadership in higher education at the director level or above, a doctorate or terminal degree, preferably in counseling, student personnel, higher education administration, or related field, and an outstanding record working directly with students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni. Applicants must have knowledge of and experience implementing programs consistent with sound student development theories. 

Qualifications also include ability to design student service and co-curricular programs which emphasize student learning, in its broadest sense, in the development of all programs and services; 
demonstrated commitment to a culturally diverse environment; ability to work effectively with the faculty and University on student retention initiatives.  

Illustrative Examples of Work: The Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management will also serve as the Dean of Students. The Division of Student Affairs is responsible for enhancing the learning environment through student services, educational support services and programs, and experiences gained through out-of-classroom programs and activities. Its mission is to enhance academic, physical, and social well-being of all students at the University. 

General responsibilities of the position include supervising the following departments: Enrollment Management, Student Engagement, Health & Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Campus Organizations/Fraternity & Sorority Life, Recreational/Intramural Sports, Student Affairs Assessment, Student Affairs at Satellite Campuses, Student Conduct & Community Standards, Fostering Through College, Center for Males, Commuter Student Services, and University Housing & Residence Life.
