Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position is responsible for providing strategic and innovative leadership as the Chief Student Affairs Officer of the college. The successful candidate will have a track record of success with student affairs functions of the college with an emphasis on enrollment management.

Major Duties:
• Leads, oversees, organizes, and directs the college’s enrollment management strategy and the student affairs programs, activities, operations, and services to include:

Enrollment Management
o Admissions
o Recruitment
o Registrar

Student Affairs
o Student Engagement
o Student Activities
o Counseling and Accessibility Services
o Residence Life
o Athletics
o Student Recreation Center

• Participates as an active, collaborative and engaged member of the President’s Cabinet

• Develops and administers departmental budgets; directs funds for staffing, equipment, and supplies; monitors and approves expenditures

• Coordinates assigned programs and services with other college departments and external programs

• Selects, trains, assign, directs, supervises and evaluates personnel

• Serves on a variety of committees and task forces

• Establishes, implements, and monitors program assessment for all enrollment management and student affairs programs

• Maintains knowledge and practice of the current trends, research, and development in areas related to enrollment management and student affairs

• Defines and leads a data-informed strategic enrollment management plan for the college

• Uses data and business intelligence to make strategic decisions related to enrollment management

• Develops, defines and monitors enrollment targets for the college

• Collaborates with the office of information technology to ensure maximum use of existing technology, as well as recommends new technology solutions

• Collaborates with public relations to maintain and promote the brand awareness of the college

• Upholds the Student Code of Conduct

• Ensures compliance for athletic program requirements of the NJCAA and University System of Georgia

• Performs related duties as assigned


Guidelines include college policies and procedures, University System of Georgia policies and procedures, the student code of conduct, college statues and bylaws, and other state and federal regulations. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge Required by the Position

• National, state, and local issues related to higher education

• University System of Georgia Board of Regents policies, procedures, practices, requirements, and reporting structures

• Federal policies, procedures, regulations, and laws related to enrollment management and student affairs

• Best practices in enrollment management to include:

o Strategic enrollment management practices using data-informed methodology
o Recruitment and retention technology

• Best practices in student affairs

• Budget development and management principles

Minimum Qualification

• Master’s Degree

• Five to Seven Years of progressive responsibility in enrollment management and student affairs
