Department Marketing Statement

Facility and Equipment:

Georgia Cancer Center houses extensive state-of-the-art core facilities, with a focus on genomics, proteomics and molecular medicine. Cancer Research focus is in the areas of molecular oncology and biomarkers, signaling and angiogenesis, cancer immunotherapy, inflammation and tolerance cancer prevention and control. Clinical research is conducted through the excellent Cancer Center translational research infrastructure that includes the minority based NCORP grant, Cooperative group trials, investigator-initiated trials and the Phase I and II clinical research programs.  Opportunities for research collaboration with basic and clinical researchers are available.  

The Georgia Cancer Center Radiation Therapy facility houses four linear accelerators, including an Edge SRT/SBRT unit, a computed tomography machine (CT), and a positron emission computed tomography machine (PET/CT).

The successful candidate will provide clinical services in Pediatric, CNS, Head and Neck, GI or other sites. They are encouraged to perform clinical and translation researches, develop clinical trials, participate in NRG and other national and internal trials. Qualified candidates may also take a leadership role in clinical operation, education, and research within the Department of Radiation Oncology and the cancer center.  

This position is not considered to be on a tenure track.

 
Minimum Requirements
 

The Department of Radiation Oncology and the Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University, invite applications for the position of Radiation Oncologist at Assistant or Associate Professor rank.

Required Education: M..D. and/or M.D., Ph.D.

Discipline: Radiation Oncology

The applicants should be ABR board certified/eligible in Radiation Oncology.
