Position Statement:

Founded in 2005, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is the 31st member of the University System of Georgia. The position will be responsible for managing events on campus. The position will collaborate in the marketing of GGC’s facilities and services to internal and the external community including online content, social media and other advertising for events. The position will also assist the Director of Operations in the management of space on campus to ensure efficient and effective utilization of space and resources. 


  • Responsible for creation and negotiation of contract deliverables; continuously works with the Legal department to ensure GGC is in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and policies.
  • Facilitate and attend on-campus events to ensure optimum operations. Trouble shoot, and respond to emergencies, problems, etc., ensuring all aspects are implemented and controlled according to plan.
  • Manage and track event finances including check requests, invoicing and reporting.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining cost structures, including, but not limited to: Rent, Catering, ET, Security, Facilities, etc.
  • Manage campus site visits; ensure events conform to all relevant campus policies and procedures.
  • Serve as committee member for the Community Engagement Committee to work to create successful strategies for GGC to engage the community.
  • Perform assessments and inventory checks throughout the year on classrooms, offices, and common areas around campus.
  • Meet with departments to determine furniture needs.
  • Manage furniture vendors relating to design, procurement , and installs on campus.
  • Manage and update database for space-related items around campus to include: employee locations, types of spaces, square footage, room usage, and furniture.
  • Co-create and collaborate in the marketing of GGC’s facilities and services to internal and the external community including online content, social media and other advertising for events.
  • Provide assistance in sales and information to faculty, staff and outside organizations regarding facility use and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with college departments, contracted service providers, and external organizations to handle event logistics including booking venues, layouts/set-ups, food/beverage and audio/visual/lighting.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to facilitate on-campus conferences, events and programs that enhance academic learning.
  • Develop and recommend policy improvements related to event and space operations.
  • Maintain an events resources on-line page.
  • Coordinate moves around campus while managing space inventory.
  • Assist in administrative work as required.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business Management, Event Management, Operations, or related degree)
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite)

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of related experience in similar position

Physical Requirements

Position may require local travel. Successful completion of a credit report is a condition of employment. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing.  Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
