Working Title Technical Specialist
Job Summary

Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for Technical Specialist. This position is responsible for day-to-day technical support of Auxiliary Services business operations; installs and maintains door and gate access, computers, printers and peripherals in Auxiliary Services locations, Blackboard, DataCard, Qualtrics, all university owned software in Dining Services, ID Card Office, Bookstore, Mail and Document Center. Provides management analysis, reporting and performance monitoring of business systems; serves as Blackboard Transaction System contact; supports programs established between Blackboard and the University; project lead on implementations and upgrades. Provides feedback and support to other departments; responsible for data coordination between business systems and processes; provides on-call services to resolve technical issues. Works with the Information Technology Department, vendors, contractors, students, internal and external customers to provide support and outstanding customer service. Trains staff, orders, installs, maintains and inventories computers and equipment; maintains web and social media sites for Auxiliary Services. Ensures compliance of all Auxiliary Services equipment with university, state and federal security regulations. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; competitive benefits program.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in a similar position. Two years of experience planning and applying information technology to one or more business functions; ability to support the functions of 24/7on-call responsibility. Strong working knowledge of Blackboard Transaction system, database management, Oracle, Banner, Data Card Systems, Simplex, Sequoia, TIAs, Bridgeway Solutions, Qualtrics, queries and reporting. Background and/or credit check may be required.
