General Summary:

The Department of Psychological Science at The University of North Georgia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Psychological Science at the Gainesville campus. Appointments are set to begin August 2018.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Faculty typically teach 12 hours per semester (undergraduate), including a combination of service courses, upper level offerings (including lab-based courses), and courses in their specialty area.
  • Faculty in the department of Psychological Science are expected to engage in professional development and scholarly pursuits and involve Undergraduate students in these endeavors.
  • Faculty at UNG are expected to contribute to the department, University, and their profession through appropriate service obligations, including the advising of students.   
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in Psychology is preferred by time of appointment, August 2018. ABD may be considered.

  • A commitment to undergraduate teaching and the establishment of a research program incorporating undergraduates is essential.
  • Successful candidates should be able to teach courses in applied areas of psychology such as, Cross-cultural, Industrial/Organizational, Sport, or Consumer Psychology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts environment.
  • Evidence of scholarship and the ability to develop a productive research program
  • Programs of research that offer the ability to include undergraduate researchers will be given special consideration.
