Primary Function of Organizational Unit

This postdoctoral associate will carry out research on changes in neuronal electrical properties in response to stimulation from the external environment and signaling mechanisms of various forms of synaptic plasticity underlying long-term memory.

Primary Purpose of Position

This postdoctoral associate will carry out research on changes in neuronal electrical properties in response to stimulation from the external environment and signaling mechanisms of various forms of synaptic plasticity underlying long-term memory. This person is expected to carry out electrophysiological recordings on neuronal cells and collect data. This individual is also required to analyze the data and assist in preparation of manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
The position will be a 12 month renewable appointment.

Minimum Requirements
Proposed Minimum Experience/Education

A Ph.D. in physiology, neuroscience or other relevant field of life sciences is required. Candidates should have experience in electrophysiological techniques such as patch-clamp and extracellular recording.

Preferences
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Prior post-doctoral experience in the field of synaptic plasticity or other areas of neuroscience and a prior publication record are preferred.
