Nature of Work: Application Services is a unit within the Division of Information Technology Services at Albany State University (ASU). Application Services provides design, implementation and production support services for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems: Ellucian (formerly SunGard) Banner (SIS), PeopleSoft Financials/Self-Service, ADP (HRMS) and supports the mission of the University by developing, coordinating, and managing application software systems that provide critical information services for university constituents. 

Reporting Services is responsible for the planning, design, analysis, testing, implementation, programming, and on-going support for campus-wide Enterprise Reporting, Data Warehouse applications and other data projects.  

Training and Experience: Mid-Level position requiring industry level certifications or college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent/relevant work experience 
2 years of experience with report development and dashboard design and development, preferably in a higher education setting using Argos, Oracle BI Publisher, OBIEE, Web programming and other BI tools 
Strong database and SQL programming experience 
Must have the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical users 
Aptitude to analyze user requirements and build reports and/or BI solutions according to 
Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of data warehouse, and experience supporting and 
developing data warehouses 
Experience working with Ellucian (formerly SunGard) Banner database or other ERP database 
Experience or specific knowledge in: 
SQL Programing; PL/SQL 
Dashboards; Scorecards; Metrics; Analytics 
OLAP Design 
Data Mining; Data Cleansing; Data Modeling 
Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) Development 
Dimensional Modeling, DW Architecture 
Master Data Management (MDM); Data Quality; Metadata Management 
Ability to analyze problems, identifies alternative solutions, determine project consequences of proposed actions & make recommendations in support of goals 
Ability to learn new technologies, software & adapt to change on an ongoing basis 
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

Studies and understands the University's business processes and applications, including their effect on data and reporting, and applies the knowledge gained in designing data warehouses and reports 
Designs, develops, tests, and implements Enterprise Reporting Solutions 
Supports both ad-hoc SQL reports as well as solutions built using Argos, Oracle BI Publisher, OBIEE, Oracle APEX and Web programming 
Assist designing, building, and supporting the components of data warehouse, such as ETL processes, databases, reports, and reporting environments 
Optimize the performance of SQL queries 
Maps end user data points to backend data fields and dependencies 
Supports Applications team with data analysis and datafix creation 
Ensure high data quality through regular quality checks 
Analyzes existing Production datasets for data impacted by known issues 
Handle small projects, present results and meet deadlines by collaborating multiple projects 
Offer compliance, escalations, operational audits, data analytics and complex activity administration daily 
Decompose high level business needs into functional needs by understanding problem and determining data needs 
Establishes system documentation and ensures it is continually sustained
