Nature of Work

The School of Business and Public Management of the College of Coastal Georgia is seeking applications for a faculty position in cyber security. The selected candidate will teach courses offered in the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and lead the recently established concentrations in Information Assurance and Cyber Security and Data and Information Analytics. The School seeks the designation as a Center of Academic Excellence by NSA and DHS for these concentrations. This is a tenure-track, 10 month academic year appointment.

Essential Duties

The successful candidate will teach 12 hours per semester, advise students, maintain a portfolio of scholarship, and work within faculty governance. This faculty position has broad curriculum responsibilities and may also coordinate adjunct faculty who teach specialized courses within the concentration. Several components of the College’s strategic plan are built around extensive student engagement. A commitment to service-learning and internships are within the responsibilities associated with the position.

Minimum Qualifications and Training

A Master’s degree in cyber security, information assurance, cyber defense, or computer science from an accredited college or university is required. Prior teaching experience at the college or professional level and background in one or more of the following areas is desired: cyber crime, cyber security, information security, information assurance, digital forensics, secure application development.

Preferred Qualifications and Training

A PhD is preferred. Experience in criminal justice is desired and will also be considered in the screening process.
