Nature of Work

WUTV is a public access, educational station that serves as an experiential learning lab for Mass Communications majors, particularly those concentrating in Convergence Journalism and Digital Media & Telecommunication. The Executive Producer provides instructional support and secondary supervision of applied learning opportunities for skills courses related to aforementioned concentrations; oversees day-to-day operation of student-produced and student-managed newscast, primarily assisting students with originating, researching, and writing news stories; and supervising newscast production; trains, mentors, and supervises student staff; and acts as a liaison between the WUTV General Manager and student staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications or related Field required;
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in broadcast journalism;
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in the news industry.


Minimum $31,101 - Midpoint $41,570

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs. of equipment for extended periods of time. 
Ability to stoop, climb ladders, and occasionally work in inclement weather
