Assistant/ Associate Professor in the Department of Biology

The Department of Biology at Georgia State University (GSU) invites applications for one (1) tenure track position at the rank of Assistant/ Associate Professor. We seek an outstanding researcher with expertise in Cellular and Molecular approaches for the study of Microbiology, Virology, Neurobiology, Immunology, Metabolic Disorders, or Cancer. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability in obtaining extramural funding and a record of publications using state-of-the-art technologies. The candidate will be expected to establish a vigorous, extramurally funded research program that will synergize with existing key research strengths in the Department of Biology listed above and to have a strong desire for research collaboration. Mentoring of Ph.D. students and excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels are also expected. Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in a discipline related to Biology. A competitive salary, start-up funds and laboratory space will be provided.
