Manager Post Production/Senior Editor

The Department of Communication at Georgia State University in Atlanta invites applications for a Manager of Post Production/Senior Editor (Professor of Practice), pending budgetary approval. The appointment requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience needed to conform programming to broadcast specification with a high degree of creativity. We seek candidates who have a deep understanding of digital technology, media management and distribution, and have hands-on proficiency with post-production software (Premier, After Effects, Pro Tools, etc).

The essential functions of the position include:

  1. Instruct practicum students in the use of Adobe Premier and other software programs for rudimentary content editing
  2. Must have a high level of competence in the use of After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, ProTools, and other finishing software. 
  3. Contribute to increasing the amount of finished programming at GSUTV by implementing and managing a daily post production workflow
  4. Manage and schedule the completion of edited programming according to the monthly broadcast schedule.
  5. As senior editor, conform all student produced programming, color correct, and transcode for delivery
  6. Insure quality control of all programming delivered for broadcast.
  7. When required, assist in field and studio productions
