Manager Production /Senior Producer

The Department of Communication at Georgia State University in Atlanta invites applications for a Manager of Production/Senior Producer (Professor of Practice), pending budgetary approval. The appointment requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in all facets of program development and production. We seek candidates who are able to train practicum students and oversee the production of programming that can be scheduled for distribution on GSUTV.

The essential functions of the position include:

  1. Must be equally knowledgeable in field and studio multi-camera production.
  2. The Manager of Production will organize and direct students in field and studio productions.
  3. Contribute to the development of arts and culture programming.  This is accomplished by working closely with other staff members and the practicum students to determine which topics are suitable and strategic for the GSUTV programming schedule. 
  4. Submit programming ideas that can be produced by students.
  5. Work closely with the technical support staff to assure that all GSUTV production equipment is properly inventoried and maintained.
  6. Have a good working knowledge of editing tools, scheduling software, and budgeting programs.
  7. Must have flexible working hours as GSUTV will require a certain amount of evening and weekend production.
