Postdoctoral positions available at Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech is building up the research strength in health and biomedical informatics. Exciting research and industry collaboration in health analytics starts happening now at Georgia Tech that are across many areas.

Several postdoctoral positions are available in the area of data mining/machine learning, big data analytics and health/biomedical informatics. The objective of the research is to develop novel algorithms, systems and applications for analyzing complex biomedical data (e.g., electronic health records, clinical text, activity sensor data and medical images) and to work on exciting real-world biomedical data with domain experts from many clinical institutions (e.g., Children health of Atlanta, Emory university and Vanderbilt University) to solve tough problems in healthcare and medicine.

Detailed Job Description:

The Post-Doctoral candidate is expected to perform the following:

  • perform state of the art research in health informatics and big data analytics
  • publish papers in the high-quality journals and conferences
  • develop big data analytics systems for solving with health and biomedical problems
  • travel to national and international conferences to present work and disseminate work to industry labs
  • assist in obtaining sponsored research grants
  • advice graduate students in their research
  • prepare deliverables required by sponsored research projects

Qualifications:

  • Qualified applicants should have a PhD degree or in the last stage of the PhD degree
  • Have an outstanding research skills in technical areas related to computational science and engineering
  • Have the ability to work in teams and provide a leadership role when working with graduate students
