Job Summary/Basic Function:  Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC), a four-year, degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for Part-Time Faculty to teach undergraduate accounting courses during the day, evenings, weekends and/or online. This is a part time temporary position and has no benefits associated with it. The college currently serves approximately 3000 commuting students on its beautifully landscaped campus which is located 10 minutes south of downtown Atlanta and 15 minutes north of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
 

This position requires the candidate to possess the following skills: ability to teach classes and lecture; grade papers, conduct research, create quizzes and assignments; and must be able to perform each essential duty efficiently and satisfactorily. The candidate must have strong oral and written communication, listening, and organizational skills; be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and relevant accounting application software packages; must be able to work cooperatively and effectively with others; be able to use small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems; be able to use computers for data entry, word processing and/or purposes.  

Minimum Qualifications:  Applicants wishing to teach any undergraduate degree-level courses in Principles of Accounting I, Principles of Accounting II, Intermediate Accounting, Federal Income Taxation, Cost/Managerial Accounting and Auditing must have an earned Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 graduate semester or 30 graduate quarter hours of in accounting The college is building a repository of qualified part-time faculty.
