MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Assist Director with retirement plan activities, processes and procedures for the USG mandatory, voluntary and executive retirement plans.
  • Conduct annual audits in addition to ensuring all plans are administered in accordance with the plan documents and in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
  • Responds to retirement plan related inquiries from vendors and USG HR/Benefit professionals
  • Work closely with the Shared Services Center on operational procedures related to plan administration and other inquires
  • Work with external/internal counsel as needed to resolve legal and compliance issues
  • Manage vendor and consultant relationships,  in addition work with vendors to
  • establish service level agreements; and develop processes to ensue SLA’s are met.
  • Develop reporting surrounding retirement plan enrollment statistics
  • Assist Director in partnering with the Retirement Plan Advisory and Investment Review Committee members in gathering data to support the overall long-term retirement plan strategy
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining process workflows
  • Maintains retirement plan files and contracts.
  • Maintains and tracks retirement plan budget
  • Coordinate internal/external meetings, travel and handling of invoices
  • Maintain and update Retirement Plan website and USG Signatory list
  • Prepares, coordinates, delivers and distributes all retirement plan communications and training materials for system-wide distribution
     
Required Qualifications:
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or other related field, and 2-3 years of experience in retirement plan administration; or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE CLASSIFICATION

  • Strong computer skills including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and client service skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively to address problems
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple levels of management within the organization
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Must be able to adapt to a constantly changing environment and be deadline driven
  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
  • Ability to quickly develop strong internal working relationships
  • Knowledge of University System of Georgia policies and procedures
  • Ability to apply knowledge of policies and procedures to solve everyday problems
Desired Qualifications:
 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in retirement plan administration
  • Higher Education Experience
  • HRIS experience ( ADP or Peoplesoft)
  • Retirement Plan or benefits plan administration certification, i.e. RPA, CEBS, CRSP, etc.
  • Knowledge of IRS rules/regulations and Georgia Law pertaining to Retirement Plans
