Job Summary/Basic Function:
Under general supervision, the Sr. Financial Aid Officer reports to the Financial Aid Manager and performs a variety of duties necessary to support the delivery of financial aid to students. 

Essential Duties:

  • Administer the planning, organization and administration of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, loans and student employment. 
  • Performs financial aid file review including verification and packaging of federal, state and institutional financial aid. 
  • Manage caseload of Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeals for students who have exceeded the maximum time frame, including making decisions.
  • Represent the Financial Aid Office at open houses, orientation and other student oriented events. 
  • Manage and assist R2T4 calculations 
  • Advise students and/or parents on the financial aid process and provides assistance in the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 
  • Perform verification of income data and validation of data reported on the FAFSA 
  • Determine students' unmet need and eligibility for the various financial aid programs 
  • Determine all other student eligibility criteria as specified by the U.S. Department of Education's federal regulation guidelines 
  • Processing and awarding all grants, loans and other types of financial aid 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Financial Aid Manager 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations 
  • Experience in utilizing the BANNER Financial Aid Module  
  • COD processing 
  • EDE Express 
  • NSLDS database

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree is required with a minimum of two years of financial aid experience.
