General Summary:
 

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor, Kinesiology (Generalist) - Fall 2018.  The Department of Kinesiology offers a BS in Kinesiology with four concentrations: Exercise Science, Health & Fitness, Teacher Education/Physical Education, and Sports Medicine. As UNG is a multi-campus institution and the Department of Kinesiology has programs on both the Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses, the candidate may be expected to instruct on both campuses based upon need.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate courses based on their experience and expertise that complement the current strengths of the Department. Courses could include: Biomechanics, Exercise Testing & Prescription, Cardio-Conditioning (group exercise), Exercise Physiology, Motor Behavior, Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition, Exercise Epidemiology & Aging, Personal & Public Health, and/or Kinesiology. 
  • The successful candidate will advise undergraduate students, develop and maintain scholarly productivity, and serve on departmental, school, and university committees.
  • Based on need, expertise, and ability to develop/deliver online courses, the successful candidate may also teach graduate courses.  
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Kinesiology or closely related field (including but not limited to: Health & Physical Education, Exercise Science, Public Health, or related field). 
  • Experience in a higher education kinesiology program preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with higher education teaching experience.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and academic advising, collaborative curriculum development, active membership in relevant professional associations/organizations, and ability to work closely with faculty in related academic disciplines is expected.
  • ACSM and/or NSCA preferred.
