Position Statement:
Founded in 2005, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is the 31st member of the University System of Georgia. GGC is a premier 21st century liberal arts institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. With a current enrollment of over 12,000 students, enrollment is projected to exceed 13,000 students in 2017, including both residential and commuter students. GGC’s innovative practices, caring culture, and extremely affordable tuition are changing the game in higher education and changing the future for students at all levels, of all ages, and from all walks of life. Gwinnett County (pop. 850,000+) is home to a variety of businesses, including organizations involved in health care, education and information technology.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the School of Business anticipates starting a new concentration in Supply Chain Management, pending curricular approval. As such, GGC seeks applications for assistant, associate, or full professor faculty positions in Supply Chain Management to begin August 1, 2018. Applicants should hold the doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in their discipline before or within the semester of the start date.

Successful applicants will teach undergraduate courses in the following areas: Transportation Management, Principles of Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Modeling & Analysis, and/or Supply Chain Applied Capstone. As the number of students in the concentration grows, additional electives can be added. In addition to teaching SCM concentration courses, the person in this position would be expected to teach courses in the required business core, including courses in management science, business statistics, and/or management information systems.

GGC’s School of Business is pursuing accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The School of Business offers an undergraduate degree only and currently serves approximately 2,600 students. GGC values and encourages innovative teaching and extensive student engagement both in and out of the classroom. Advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty.

School of Business faculty are expected to actively participate in scholarly activities. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to research which leads to quality refereed publications. Service to the college, community, and the profession are also expected.

Since this is a new concentration, the person in this position should be prepared to assume active service roles related to course design and curriculum development, industry relations, and student recruitment to the concentration.

In accordance with Board of Regents Policy governing GGC faculty, successful applicants will be eligible to receive 5 or 3 year renewable appointments or one year traditional appointments may also be approved. For more information about our college, please visit our website at
