Position Statement:
Founded in 2005, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is the 31st member of the University System of Georgia. The Assistant Director of Student Involvement and the Student Center provides daily operations to programs aimed at promotion of student involvement, specifically, but not limited to, the day to day operation of the Student Center. The position also provides event set up and event management, as required.


  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Student Center
  • Provides event setup and event management, as required
  • Responsible for facility communications, marketing, and customer relations for the campus Student Center
  • Supervise Student Center night/weekend full and part time professional staff members
  • Hire, train, and supervise student employees
  • Initiate and support diversity, leadership, and volunteerism and community service projects, and special campus wide collaborative projects, as directed
  • Serve as emergency management liaison
  • Oversee the mascot program
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree (or higher) from an accredited college/university required.
  • Two (2) or more years progressive administrative experience in facility operation or management, event and guest services, student 
  • employee training and development
Preferred Qualifications
  •  Proficiency with R25/25 Live scheduling software or similar system
  • Familiarity with ACUI and CAS best practices for student center and facility operations management, and student employee development

Physical Requirements

Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
