The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Augusta University seeks applicants for TWO FULL-TIME TENURE TRACK positions with open rank to begin Fall 2018.  Our current needs are in physical chemistry instruction and NMR spectroscopy.  In the event of a single hire with capabilities in both areas, we would consider candidates with more varied expertise for the second position.

Augusta University is a comprehensive research university, with a focus on health sciences.  We have a core facility within our department for biomolecular analysis, which includes two NMR instruments operating at 300 and 500 MHz.

The NMR expert will use our NMR instruments extensively as part of an independent research program, promote increased external utilization of the NMR instruments in our core facility, and provide technical/methodological consultation to a variety of researchers, especially in biomolecular areas.

The physical chemist should have demonstrated experience in the teaching of the physical chemistry sequence and a physical chemistry laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

Both positions require a Ph.D. (postdoctoral experience preferred), a commitment to excellence in teaching, and the development of a vigorous, externally funded research program that includes engagement of undergraduates.  Rank and salary commensurate with experience and history of external funding.
