The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member for the academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to fill the position of educator within the department of MCG Academic Affairs in order to expand our teaching faculty .The faculty position will advance the MCG UME mission both within the department and as part of interdisciplinary educational initiatives. We seek a creative, innovative member who will have a partial assignment in Ell (Educational Innovation Institute) and contribute to educational research, faculty development, or both. The position will also have some interdisciplinary educational focus, and will contribute to small group teaching. The individual will be academically housed within a clinical department based on specialty and/or field of expertise .The clinician will practice medicine in his/her discipline,and must be eligible to be licensed in Georgia and credentialed at Augusta University Health System.

Minimum Requirement


  • Doctoral degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent)
  • Board certification for physicians
  • Educational experience in UME or other health sciences- related educational programs


Experience in:

  • Significant experience in undergraduate medical education
  • Educational research
  • Faculty development
  • Curricular design
  • Assessment
  • Use of educational technology
  • LCME Self-Study and accreditation process
  • Exper ience as or in the following:
    • Physical educator
    • Simulation
    • Inter Professional Education
    • Ultrasound
    • Global Medicine
    • Geriatrics
    • Phase 1/2 ingrator
