15 hours per week Monday through Friday. Education Coordinators will also be responsible for 20 hours of pre-service training and preparation work.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

Provides Grant-Funded academic support to area schools

Primary Purpose of Position

Education Coordinator will be assigned to Oak Hill Middle School and is employed by Georgia College as an hourly, grant-funded employee without benefits.

Key Functions and Related Job Duties

Job duties performed for the above function

Serves as the leader of the site education team; leading staff and parent orientations, meeting, and identifying ongoing professional development training. Works closely with the Director to maintain and submit necessary records and reports. Takes recommendations from the Director to ensure continuous improvement of the program. Conducts phone and other forms of contact with parents or guardians of the YES students. Fosters trust and teamwork. Follows the guidelines of the 21st CCLC Handbook. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Displays a joy of working with students and assures that all academic enrichment activities are presented in an “afterschool” style. Maintains an atmosphere conductive to learning; adheres to goals and objectives of the 21st CCLC program. Assures that standards-based academic activities are implemented; supports differentiating instruction for diverse learners. Promotes the discovery of competence within each child, fosters high expectations, and celebrates program/classroom successes. Promotes and maintains appropriate student behavior.

Will be required to collect grant-supporting documentation throughout program year and submit to the Director in a timely and organized manner.

Will make programmatic changes as identified in the Formative and Summative evaluation Reports.
