Nature of Work: The Receptionist is responsible for providing assistance to the Department by receiving calls, greeting visitors, answering letters and general correspondence, planning appointment schedules and making travel reservations.  
Training and Experience: INTERNAL EMPLOYEES WHO MEET MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. 

A two year degree, having successfully completed courses in business communications, data processing/software applications, and general office procedures, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The ability to operate modern office machines, word processors and personal computers is required.  

Testing Requirements: Clerical Test will be administered regardless of previous education or experience and must be scheduled and taken by the application deadline. Please call (229) 500-2932 for scheduling.  
Illustrative Examples of Work: Greets individuals and general public; provides information pertaining to organizational procedures and policies; Interprets rules, policies and regulations; Prepares agenda for meetings; Answers the telephone and makes travel arrangements; Arranges conferences and makes appointments for department head and other staff members; Composes routine letters and other correspondence; Prepares and channels various interoffice forms, requisitions, etc.; Operates various office machines and maintains supply inventory; Performs other job-related duties as required.
