Part-Time Instructor - Stage Combat

The Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University
seeks a Part-Time Instructor for an introductory course in stage combat.

Candidates must have experience performing and teaching the skills necessary to safely and dynamically create the illusion of violence on stage. Areas of expertise should include a variety of techniques such as unarmed combat, rapier/dagger, quarterstaff, bullwhip and/or broadsword. Successful candidates prioritize healthy use of the body, physical storytelling and emotional truth. All vocabulary, skills and assignments will meet standards articulated by the Society of American Fight Directors.

Candidates must hold a graduate degree in theatre with a focus in acting, and experience teaching heightened text; or the foreign equivalent.

Applicants holding a B.A. or B.F.A with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.
