Nature of Work: The individual filling the position is responsible for maintaining and operating the instruments of the department.  
Training and Experience: Experience on modern instrumental analysis method and applications with the BS degree in chemistry or biology or related discipline is preferred.  
Illustrative Examples of Work: The individual filling the position will be 
1) Effectively monitoring the instrument use and performing daily checks
2) Offering instrument training workshops and performing tours and research demonstrations for the guest to the Chemistry, Biology, and Forensic Sciences department 
3) Working with students on independent research projects and senior projects 
4) Participating in several community/ university events to increase the awareness of the Department of Chemistry and Forensic Sciences 
5) Performing repairs/ maintenance on many instruments throughout the year 
6) Working with department classes to include instruments in labs 
7) Developing preventative maintenance plan, instrument supplies, and service visits 
8) Assisting research faculty in performing SEM, Flow Cytometry, and etc. 
9) Managing the biotechnology facilities
