General Summary:

The Department of Modern and Classical Languages at the University of North Georgia invites applicants for a part-time lectureship in Russian, primarily on its Dahlonega campus. This position is for the spring 2019 term. However, contingent upon enrollment and budgetary support, it may be converted to a full-time, benefited position. It may also be renewable.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate Russian courses, as well as engagement in extracurricular activities.
  • Teaching schedules may include assignments on the Gainesville and/or Cumming campuses, evening or on-line classes, and coordinating or teaching intensive immersion courses and programs, including Summer Language Institute.  
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Russian or closely-related field is required; a similar doctoral degree by the time of application is preferred.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Russian, previous teaching experience at a North American university, including at least two years of teaching experience in Russian as a foreign language, are required.  
  • Specialization is open. Broad expertise in Russian literature and culture is encouraged.
