Responsibilities & Experience:
- Device development to create noninvasive, objective methods for diagnosing mild traumatic brain injuries and data analysis
- Prior experience with device development, such as electronics, machining, 3-D printing, and/or coding is desired.
- Primary role is to develop customized devices to perform eye tracking, pupillary response, and balance and gait measurements in a large animal model of TBI, as well as to assess effort and attention, and other multimodal functional metrics.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students engaged in the lab
- Work simultaneously on multiple projects, involving a diverse and interdisciplinary team of scientists
- Prepare research proposals and manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and present research findings at scientific conferences
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: PhD in mechanical engineering, biomechanics, biomedical engineering or related field
- Work Experience: 2+ years of postdoctoral fellowship experience preferred
- Required Skills: Prior experience in device development and the ability to develop multimodal functional metrics & analysis; strong engineering fundamentals, high motivation, ability to work on multiple projects, and excellent communication skills are mandatory
