ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SPORT MANAGEMENT

TENURE TRACK OPENING

The Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education seeks a qualified candidate for an Assistant Professor of Sport Management position. The College of Education is SACS accredited and offers high level technological support, mentoring for new faculty, assistance seeking research funding, and opportunities to work with graduate students at all levels. The University of West Georgia, a Doctoral Research University, is a rapidly growing institution located approximately 50 minutes west of Atlanta. We are the seventh largest public university in the state with students from 44 states and 75 countries. Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Sport Management in both face-to-face and online environments, scholarly activity, and service to the Department, College, University, and community.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in Sport Management or related field from a regionally accredited institution by August 1, 2018 (ABD considered)
  • Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Sport Management in both face-to-face and online environments
  • Established or developing research agenda
  • Established or developing record of service

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with higher education teaching experience in sport management, practical experience in sport or a related industry, a demonstrated research agenda, and documented evidence of effective online teaching.
