JOB SUMMARY/BASIC FUNCTION:

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering invites applications for a tenure track position in Engineering at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2018.  The successful candidate will provide 27-32 hours of instruction per academic year, contribute to the development and review of related undergraduate curricula, and maintain office hours for student advisement.  Expectations also include service to the college at the department, discipline, campus and college-wide levels.  Perimeter College encourages and supports innovation and professional growth, expecting the successful candidate to demonstrate career goals that are consistent with the college’s mission. This is a full-time, tenure track position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  A Ph.D. in Engineering or a closely related field with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate hours in Engineering is required.

Required Qualifications:

Ability to teach Engineering on the collegiate level.  Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods, relate to students and facilitate student learning.  Competence with instructional technology is also required.

Experience:  Prior teaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level, is desired

Pre-Employment Requirements: Criminal History Check is required

Work Hours:  Position may require non-standard hours (including day, evening, on-line, hybrid, weekend and/or other campus locations)

Salary: 10 month salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.  As the two-year unit of Georgia State University, Perimeter College salaries are comparable to other associate degree granting institutions.
