Working Title Program Specialist (Title III Funded)
Job Summary

Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for this position which performs administrative and other office tasks of a complex nature requiring initiative and independence in the areas of office management and human relations. Assists the Director in the areas of grants management and provides technical assistance to Title III staff; assists with training and maintenance of Title III’s webpage. Provides administrative oversight including composing correspondence, coordination of meetings/presentations; performs filing, data and records management. Works with Grants/Fiscal office; provides support to resolve budget matters; assists with other related initiatives in support of the Title III grant. Submits requests for purchases and travel; maintains calendar, prepares agendas and provides note taking; maintains filing/tracking system and logs. Assists with grant application, collection of data, and submission; assists in developing and disseminating Title III newsletters. Conducts equipment inventory; assists with supervision of student workers. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Three or more years working in Higher Education is preferred. Ability to work independently and use good judgment; ability to interface with a variety of senior administrators, staff, faculty, students and funding agency. Excellent time management skills and ability to pay attention to detail. Exceptional organizational and customer service skills; ability to multitask and prioritize projects required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, other publishing software, office procedures, and filing systems and be capable of website maintenance and/or development. Must be willing and able to complete Grants Management Certification within three years after hiring date. Background and/or credit check may be required.
