The Health Science and MPA programs at Columbus State University are seeking an energetic and innovative full-time, tenure track, Assistant or Associate professor. The selected candidate will have dual appointment within the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science and the Department of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Administration. Candidates must demonstrate experience in public health and public policy, with a specialization in public budgeting and financial policy. Research methods, health administration and policy, biostatistics, and/or other health-related issues are strongly encouraged. Both programs are dedicated to providing students the requisite skills to be successful in health services and health policy areas. This position is available August 2018.

Teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate and graduate level courses. The successful candidate is expected to serve on various departmental, college, and university committees; engage in scholarly research and grant activities; and understand and develop online instructional courses as needed. The successful candidate will use active learning strategies which increase student engagement in the learning process.

Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Public Health or Health Administration with a MPH or MPA with a specialization in health policy and a background in community health education; or a related area and teaching experience.
