The Department of Communication Sciences and Professional Counseling in the College of Education at the University of West Georgia invites dynamic applicants to join our rapidly-growing, ASHA CAA- accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program. The College of Education at the University of West Georgia is doctoral granting and NCATE-accredited, a recognized leader in preparing exemplary practitioners for all educational roles. The College offers high level technological support, mentoring for new faculty, opportunities to work with graduate students at all levels and to partner with school districts, and has developed a Comprehensive Community Clinic which offers speech language pathology and audiology services to the West Georgia region. Position Description

The successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including (1) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, including on-line instruction; (2) supervising students in school, clinical, and research settings; (3) advising students; (4) participating in broad-based university, college, and departmental committee work and professional service; and (5) developing/expanding a research agenda in a chosen specialty area while sustaining scholarly productivity. Required Qualifications

  • An earned graduate degree in Speech-language Pathology, Communication Sciences/Disorders, or a related field (e.g., special education, rehabilitation, public health, educational psychology, etc.) from an accredited institution. A doctoral degree is preferred, and ABD will be considered.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Possess a specialization in at least one of the following specialty areas: voice disorders, neurogenic communication disorders, speech science, and/or stuttering/fluency disorders.
  • A minimum of 3 years successful teaching, clinical experience, and/or work in the field of communication sciences and disorders is preferred.
