Job Title: Research Engineer II

Description: The Margulies Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology & Emory University is seeking a Research Engineer II with a background in biomechanical data analysis and computational modeling in traumatic brain injury research. 

Major Responsibilites:

  • Develop and apply appropriate computational models for traumatic brain injury problems
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students engaged in the lab
  • Work simultaneously on multiple projects, involving a diverse and interdisciplinary team of scientists
  • Prepare research proposals and manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and present research findings at scientific conferences

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education:  PhD in mechanical engineering, biomechanics, biomedical engineering or related field
  • Work Experience: 2+ years of postdoctoral fellowship experience preferred
  • Required Skills: Prior experience in finite element modeling and statistical analysis, proficient with Matlab software for data collection, processing and analysis, strong engineering fundamentals, high motivation, ability to work on multiple projects, and excellent communication skills are mandatory
