Nature of Work: This individual will assist the Project Administrator in carrying out the functions necessary to successfully implement programming for veterans.  
Training and Experience: REQUIRED
? A master's degree in Counseling, Education, Business Administration, Public Administration or related discipline.
? Excellent skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
? Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with veterans, active duty members and military dependents.
? Experience with grant administration.
? Experience managing budgets.
? Experience in providing student support services.

? Ability to identify and remain sensitive to the needs of program participants.
? Ability to interact effectively with veterans, active duty members and dependents as well as staff.
? Demonstrated skill in Project Management and Program Coordination.
? Excellent communication skills in expressing oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing to diverse audiences.

? Exceptional skill in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with service organizations and the general public.

Illustrative Examples of Work: ? Establish a Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success on the campus of the institution to provide a single point of contact to coordinate comprehensive support services for veterans.
? Establish a veteran student support team, including representatives from the offices of the institution responsible for admissions, registration, financial aid, veteran's benefits, academic advising, disabilities services, and any other office of the institution that provides support to veteran students on campus.
? Monitor the rates of veteran student enrollment, persistence, and completion.
? Develop a plan to sustain the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success after the grant period.
? In collaboration with the project team, developing and implementing program goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
? Marketing the program to veterans within the community.
? Engaging community partners including service providers and potential employers.
? Collaborating with key constituents and establishing a comprehensive team to serve a support network which will assist program participants with their academic, mental health/counseling, financial, housing, disability, and/or career planning needs.
? Establishing population specific student organizations and support groups on campus.
? Fiscal oversight of the departmental budget including monitoring revenues and expenses as well as projecting expenditures over the course of the grant.
? Preparing monthly and annual financial and administrative reports to be reviewed with internal and external stakeholders.
? Monitoring, tracking and presenting program outcomes to institutional administrators.
? Acting as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders with a foal of promoting the services offered, to exchange information, and to develop shared resources that will enhance the experience of veterans who attend Albany State University.
? Conducting program evaluation and assessment as required.
? Ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
? Developing a sustainability plan.
? Demonstrating excellent customer service.
? Evaluating the performance of employees and volunteers.
? Participating in continuing education programs.
? Performing other program duties as assigned.
