Department Marketing Statement

The Department of Clinical and Digital Health Sciences (CDHS) has recently attracted faculty with public health research interests, has increased the number of externally funded projects in public health, and has been successful in merging health technology solutions with research initiatives. The CDHS department offers undergraduate programs in Health Information Administration, Respiratory Therapy, and Health Services. Masters degrees are offered in Public Health and Clinical Nutrition with a Dietetic Internship.

The Community

Augusta University, formerly known as The Medical College of Georgia, invites applications for a faculty position in the Bachelors of Science Respiratory Therapy Program housed in the Department of Clinical and Digital Health Sciences. The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include teaching in the classroom, online, laboratory and 12-hour clinical rotations. Additional responsibilities include service and recruitment activities. Candidates will find an academic environment that encourages and supports research activities such as grant writing and publication of peer reviewed articles. The MHS in Respiratory Care is integral to the future planning for the program. This is a 12-month appointment. Rank will be commensurate with education and experience.

 
Minimum Requirements
 

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Earned a graduate degree (Master, PhD or EdD) at the time of hiring
  • RRT credential
  • Eligible for Georgia RCP license
  • Proven experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with current clinical experience in ICU. 

Experience on the faculty of a respiratory therapy programs, experience in web-based teaching, curriculum design, and program development are desirable. Advanced credentials, particularly in neonatal/pediatrics, and experience in classroom and/or laboratory courses in an accredited respiratory therapy program are preferred. The strong candidate will hold an earned doctorate in a related field.
