The Department of Art is accepting applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor to begin in January 2014. The successful candidate will teach graphic design and related courses at the beginning and advanced level.  Candidate will also assist in designing the new undergraduate degree track in graphic design at GRU. Other ongoing duties include undergraduate advising and university service. In addition to having an applied understanding of related design software and past teaching and professional experience, the successful candidate should have excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and a working knowledge of contemporary trends in the design field.  

Georgia Regents University (formally Augusta State University) is located in Augusta Ga. and currently serves 9000+ undergraduate and graduate students over two main campuses. The Department of Art is an active part of Liberal Arts community of GRU with 130+ majors.

  Effective January 9, 2013, Georgia Health Sciences University consolidated with Augusta State University to become Georgia Regents University.  The consolidated university consists of nine colleges on two campuses.  The Health Sciences Campus consists of the Medical College of Georgia, College of Dental Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Allied Health Sciences, and the College of Graduate Studies.  The Summerville Campus consists of the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Hull College of Business; College of Education; and College of Science and Mathematics. 
  Application Procedure/Minimum Requirements
  Master of Fine Art in Graphic Design or related field required.  The successful candidate must be able to teach Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and other computer programs required in the field of graphic and web design.  Also should be familiar with the operation/maintenance issues of a mac-based computer lab.  Other preferred qualifications include teaching experience at the college level and relevant professional experience in the design field. The ability to teach in a related discipline (drawing, etc.) would also be desirable.
