Tenure Track Assistant Professor of English beginning August 2017.  Requires a genuine interest in and commitment to teaching freshman composition and lower-division courses in the humanities.  A firm commitment to a learning-centered teaching process.  Applicants who have experience in teaching ESL, who have credentials to teach in Rhetoric and Composition, or who have experience teaching multicultural literature (especially Hispanic or Latino), may be given preference.

Responsibilities of the position include teaching eight classes per academic year.  Teaching assignments may be day, evening, or weekends, possibly at off-campus locations.  Academic advising, committee work, planning and assessment, other College and community service, and professional development.  Other such duties as assigned by the chair of English.

Required: Ph.D. in English (with a minimum of 18 semester/30 quarter graduate hours in English).  The salary is commensurate with credentials and experience.  An on-campus interview and teaching demonstration will be required prior to an official offer of the position.  As per USG policy, a background check will be processed for any candidate who accepts an offer of employment.
